Welcome

Hi! Thanks for taking the time to have a look at my website.

In 2006 my wife and I planted a church on a housing estate in Yeovil. For over 12 years we passionately loved our community through developing a way of doing church that connected with families who weren’t engaging with church and by supporting & coaching individuals with a wide spectrum of mental health struggles.

At the end of 2018 we closed our church, but a deep passion has remained to equip organisations to support individuals with complex mental health struggles, to equip churches to develop community that supports those living through the darkest seasons of life, and to help everyone keep having hope.

Over those 12 years I spent thousands of hours in conversations with people struggling with their mental health. I know what it is like to be on the phone with someone who has taken an overdose or be sat on a high wall with someone so exhausted they are ready to take their own life. Panic attacks, dissociation, & self-harm were a part of my week in and week out work as a church leader. I have journeyed alongside so many whose lives have been ravaged by childhood trauma.

Leading a church in a deprived community taught us other things as well. We explored different models of meeting together as the typical Sunday centred model wasn’t affordable for us. Creativity, participation, & inclusiveness became a staple part of our times together as we sought to connect with those no one else was.

So I am available for training, consultancy, and coaching in a variety of subjects ranging from mental health to being a more misisonal church to theology. Please take a moment to look at the TRAINING section of this website and see if there is any way I can support the work that you are doing.

I am currently living in Devon with my wife and three kids. We enjoy getting outside, scrambling over rocks, family movies, and a good board game.
